Lasers and light sources use the principle of selective photothermolysis to eliminate hair and its potential regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin. During a laser hair removal treatment, light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This absorption raises the temperature of the hair follicle and thermally destroys the cells responsible for regrowth. The attributes of the light (wavelength, pulse duration and power) are chosen to ensure damage to these cells and not to the rest of the skin.
Length of hair reduction session will last from a few moments to an hour or more depending on the area being treated. Because only hair in the anagen (active growth) stage is affected, 6-8 treatments are necessary to achieve permanent hair removal. Sessions should be spaced out over 1-3 months and after each treatment hair will be finer and lighter.

Before & After Your Treatment
Optimal results for your hair removal sessions can be achieved by following a few important steps.
First, be sure to shave the area to be treated the night before your session.
Due to the difficulty of achieving a clean shave in the spa please shave in the comfort of your own home. If this is not possible the shave prep fee is $50.00.
Do not tan for 4 weeks prior to laser treatments and refrain from using self tanning products for 2 weeks.
Because the success of laser hair removal relies on the destruction of the pigmented hair follicle, do not pluck, wax, or have electrolysis for 3 weeks prior to treatment.
Retinol, Renova, Retin-A, glycolic acids, bleaching creams and exfoliants should be stopped 3-4 days prior to treatment.
